Fifth Grade

Fifth Grade
By Ashlen Funke
I heard that the other fifth grade teachers
Are extremely strict and mean.
I’d rather stay in you class
Because well
You know what I mean.

If I could choose a teacher
Not to be rude or mean.
But you
Are the best I’ve ever seen.

Since I have to go to fifth grade
With days left to spare
I think I’d like you
As my teacher there.
I hope I have you for fifth grade.
Yours Truly,

Correcting endless test, and responding millions emails. This reminds me of my fifth grade teacher Mrs. Hartman. I would like to recognize Mrs. Hartman for these qualities by awarding her the “Teacher of the year award”.
To start off with, one reason why Mrs. Hartman should get the “teacher of the year award” is because she is always teaching kids. To begin she is the best science teacher. When teaching she shows so much patience with the class. Instead of the same old science lessons, she makes them much more interesting. For instance, instead of reading about the heart, we got to see and touch a real cow heart. If it was not for the teaching of Mrs. Hartman, fifth grade would have been a bore.
Another reason why Mrs. Hartman should get this award is because she is very kind to her class. Thought full is like her middle name. She gave us gifts like NY shirts for the whole class, and prizes for reading A.R. books every month. Also she was very nice to the whole class every day. There was never a time when she tried to put someone down unless they might have done something bad on purpose. Right now I think of her as the best and nicest teacher I have ever had other than Mrs. Mank.
Last but not least, Mrs. Hartman was the most fun teacher ever. If we had time at the end of the day we were outstanding, would get to play kickball. Also she showed us the love of her life, her Harley Davidson. Onetime she rode it for us. It sounded just like a jet engine starting off. Finally, she made our book reports exciting instead of the same old boring kind. I think fifth grade was one of the most fun years because of her.
Therefore, we should present Mrs. Hartman with the “teacher of the year award” because of all she does. Like she always teaches and has patience with every single kid. I do not know what life would be like if Mrs. Hartman was not my fifth grade teacher.
